About Girl 4 Girl
Girl 4 Girl was founded in 2012 by Coco McDermott and Arielle Eshel, two seventeen year old girls from Los Angeles, California. The founders were galvanized by activist and playwright, Eve Ensler, who created V-Day, a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls worldwide. They then decided to take initiative in their own community to raise awareness and funds to help the V-Day cause. Coming from an all girls school, Ari and Coco recognize how beneficial it is for women and girls to be in a safe and empowering environment. Ari and Coco's mission is to inspire girls to help girls who live in areas with a large amount of sexual violence. They hold bakesales and fundraisers such as benefit Soul Cycle classes in which the proceeds go to a school called The City of Joy in Bakavu, The Democratic Republic of the Congo.
